"Why I Design"

Lead Sound Designer, Camera Operator, Video Editor

'Why I design', or Native Shoes, is a group project I did as part of my IAT 344: Moving Images class at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Native shoes is a Vancouver-based shoe company that focus on creating an “iconic casual silhouette” products that are also lightweight. For this project, my group and I met with a real client, interviewed and edited a short film about the company and one of their designers. The video will be eventually part of Museum of Vancouver's Why I Design. I was maily responsible for the audio part of the video along with some animations and editing.

Reflection

Working on ‘Why I design” documentary helped me to be a better videographer and sound designer. I took a sound design class during that same semester and working on this project helped to put what I have learned into a better use. I also loved to shoot the video as it only took us one day to shoot but a lot of time to prepare.
